To make your own wand is the best way. It's simple to do and you'll be amazed at how beautiful they can be when you let your imagination run riot. and the biggest plus is that they will have a lot of your own personality and energy woven within them.
The wand must be cut from the tree on the right day and permission asked of the tree. After cutting the wand a gift must be left for the tree and buried at it's base, a piece of cake or chocolate is a recognised offering.

The branch must be about eight to twelve inches in length and sanded until smooth. It must then be trimmed and decorated in keeping with the various tasks ahead. A wand can be used to strenghthen your spell by pointing and making passes, to cast a circle and to call upon any Angels, spirits or elements needed. They may be trimmed with anything you consider appropriate to the type of working it is to be used for, or with anything that takes your fancy. These are a few of my own ideas.

For Love
Rose quartz crystal, attached to the end with copper wire, pink ribbons, red ribbons, dried red or pink flowers, pink pearls and crushed rose quartz.

For Fertility
Stones from a stream, ears of corn, pine cones, shells, dried wild flowers, green ribbons and green glass beads.

For Prosperity
Gold and silver ribbons, mint, coins, rolled paper money and horse chestnuts.

For Protection
Use rowan wood. Trim with flints, red ribbons, rusty nails, red berries or flowers and any charm or talisman that you consider your pesonal protector.
